What We Believe
About the Bible
The Bible is the very Word of God, verbally given, fully inspired and completely without error in the original manuscripts. It is the ultimate authority on all matters of faith.
There is one and only one living and true God. God is infinite in holiness, love, and all other perfections. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
Humankind, male and female, is the pinnacle of God’s creation, made in His own image. By his free choice Adam sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. By nature and by active rebellion all have sinned and fallen short of a holy God. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the redemptive purpose of God.
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
God, by His power and for His glory, creates the church, calling men out of the whole of the human race into the community of Christ. The church is not a religious institution, denomination, or organization. Rather, the universal church is made up of all those who have become genuine followers of Jesus Christ and have personally appropriated the Gospel by faith.
It is the responsibility and privilege of all the true church of God to live missionally for His glory and others good. God, in His sovereignty, has ordained that His church be the representation of Himself to the world. The church is God’s plan to reach the fallen world. Our faith does not end at church, it envelopes who we are and compels us to bring the gospel to the world.
